The invention relates to a solar collector installation (1) and to a method for the control thereof, comprising a thermal circuit (3) with at least one solar collector (2) and a heat exchanger (6) arranged in a thermal store (7) and comprising an absorption chiller, the generator (10) of which, which is integrated in a coolant circuit (4), is coupled to at least one solar collector (2). In order to link the thermal circuit (3) and the coolant circuit (4) to each other in a synergetic way by means of a simple interconnecting and controlling setup, the thermal circuit (3) and the coolant circuit (4) are at least partially brought together in at least one common solar collector (2) and a temperature of the coolant circuit (4) is controlled by means of a flow of a fluid through the thermal circuit (3).
