<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable selection of items which matches user's preference and seller's sales policy, which are not biased toward only the seller's sales policy, and which are easily acceptable by the user. <P>SOLUTION: An item selecting apparatus comprises: a preference item set creating section; a first rate calculating section for, with respect to a first set as a set of partial items included in a preference item set, calculating a first rate as the rate of items satisfying recommendation item conditions indicating conditions for determining as a recommendation item; a user characteristic value calculating section for calculating a user characteristic value using the first rate; and an item selecting section for creating a result item set including items satisfying the recommendation item conditions from items included in the preference item set, and creating the result item set so that when the user characteristic value satisfies a predetermined user characteristic value condition, the rate of items satisfying the recommendation item conditions in the result item set becomes greater than the first rate and smaller than 1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
