<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an auto-cruise controller that can fuel-efficiently and economically cruise travel through traveling at the lowermost number of engine revolutions in the situation where no high acceleration performance is needed. <P>SOLUTION: When an inter-vehicle gap control during auto-cruise traveling is made (S1), a vehicle load, an engine output, and the number of engine revolutions after an upshift (S2, S4 and S5) are determined, and an upshift is executed in a preceding vehicle following where no high acceleration is needed (S6). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
