<p>In the present invention, a friction material can prevent the occurrence of dusting and segregation when mixing the starting materials of the friction material, and the friction material is resistant to deterioration even when a phenol resin is used for a binder, and the manufacturing steps thereof can be conducted safely, quickly and at a low cost. A method for manufacturing the friction material has a mixing step (A) for stirring friction-material starting materials containing a high-ortho phenolic resin, calcium hydroxide, and 3-10 wt% of water, and a forming step (B) for forming the mixed powder obtained in the mixing step (A) into a desired shape at room temperature.</p> |
