PURPOSE: A variable valve apparatus is provided to reduce manufacturing costs and easily detecting malfunction because if one variable valve apparatus malfunctions, two intake valves or two exhaust valves malfunction at the same time. CONSTITUTION: A variable valve apparatus comprises an outer body(100), an inner body(200), a latching unit(600), and a lost motion spring(400). A bearing(320) is installed at the center of the outer body. The inner body is placed inside the outer body. One side of the inner body is rotated about a valve stem shaft(540), and one end of the outer body. The other side of the inner body is connected to a bearing shaft. The latching unit is inserted into an insertion hole of outer body, and selectively restricts the movement of the outer body in response to the movement of the inner body. The lost motion spring is coupled to an outer surface of the outer body, and offers stability in order that the inner body revolves.
