摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photoelectrochemical cell capable of generating power with higher quantum efficiency. <P>SOLUTION: A photoelectrochemical cell 100 comprises: a titanium oxide electrode 120 including a conductor 121, a titanium oxide layer (a rutile-type titanium oxide layer 122 and an anatase-type titanium oxide layer 123), and a chromophore layer 124 formed of chromophores adsorbed on a surface of the titanium oxide layer; a counter electrode 130; an electrolytic solution 140 including an electrolyte; and a container 110. In the titanium oxide layer, the ratio of the anatase-type titanium oxide present in the vicinity of the chromophore layer is greater than the ratio of the rutile-type titanium oxide present in the vicinity of the chromophore layer, and the ratio of the rutile-type titanium oxide present in the vicinity of the conductor is greater than the ratio of the anatase-type titanium oxide present in the vicinity of the conductor.
