<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a crimp terminal capable of always securing slipperiness between the external surface of a stationary part and the crimping surface of a crimper and usable under a high temperature environment without requiring a lubricant painted on the crimping surface of the crimper, a gas sensor including the crimp terminal, and a method of manufacturing the crimp terminal. <P>SOLUTION: This gas sensor includes the crimp terminal for taking out an output signal of a detecting part of a detection element to the outside. The crimp terminal includes a barrel part for crimping and fixing a core wire 16 of a lead wire connected to the outside. The stationary part composing the barrel part is formed by being crimped between an anvil 120 and a crimper 121 with the core wire 16 of the lead wire disposed in the inside of a U-shaped pre-crimped stationary part 77. Since a plated layer 85 is formed on the external surface of the pre-crimped stationary part 77, slipperiness between the external surface and the crimping surface of the crimper 121 can be always secured. Since the plated layer 85 has heat resistance, it does not melt under the high temperature environment, and no adverse effect is given to the electromotive voltage of the gas sensor. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
