<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for purifying silicon that can purify silicon with high purity. <P>SOLUTION: The method for purifying silicon to obtain purified silicon from silicon waste includes steps of: melting the silicon waste to form molten silicon; and solidifying melted silicon obtained by the molten silicon to form a silicon ingot.
