<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refraction contrast type X-ray imaging method with high density resolution and wide dynamic range. <P>SOLUTION: By changing degree of asymmetry of an unsymmetrical crystal corresponding to density distribution of a photographic subject, an angular area in which an incident X-ray and a diffraction X-ray are approximately proportional is extended.
