The invention relates to an item of furniture that can be converted into a chair, a sofa and a bed, comprising: (i) at least one seat formed by a rigid base (1) and a strip (3) of at least two cushions connected to the upper front edge of the rigid base (1) and connected to one another in the form of a concertina; ii) a back formed by a pair of lower pieces (4) in the form of a horizontal T, in which the horizontal parts (4a) are fixed to the lower part of the rigid base (1) and the vertical parts (4b) are tubular and open at the upper end thereof, a first pair of through-tubes (5) being inserted into the vertical parts (4b) and connected together by at least one horizontal bar (9) provided with a cut (10) at each of the ends thereof, and a second pair of tubes (5a) being inserted into the upper opening in the first pair of tubes (5); and iii) at least one pair of armrests (7) at the sides of the rigid base (1), each armrest (7) including a pair of tubular connectors (8) at the lower end thereof, which are coupled to the slidable connectors (13) of the base (1).
