A multiple-contact connector for printedcircuit cards comprises an insulating housing 1 with a number of parallel cavities 3 containing resilient strip contacts 5, each contact 5 having an end connecting tag 7 which projects through an aperture 9 in housing 1, a shoulder 13 which co-operates with a tongue 11 on tag 7 to retain contact 5 in housing 1, and a contact-making nose 17. The contact 5 bears against housing 1 at points A and B, the distance between A and B preferably being equal to the distance between B and and a point C on nose 17 where contact is made with a mating card 18 inserted into a recess 21 between cavities 3. When out of engagement with card 18, the nose 17 is supported against the housing at another point D. The upper portion of contact 5 is slotted, and the two parts so formed are inclined towards each other. Two longitudinal grooves 27 in housing 1 are provided for mounting lugs 29. |
