<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal print head that is capable of avoiding damage to a resistor layer and a method of manufacturing the same. <P>SOLUTION: A thermal print head 101 includes: a ceramic substrate 11; a glaze layer 2 formed on the ceramic substrate 11 and provided with a heating resistor support unit 21 extending in a primary scanning direction and having an arc-like cross-sectional shape when seen in a direction perpendicular to the primary scanning direction; an electrode layer 3 including a plurality of pairs of strip-shaped parts 331, 371 arranged in a primary scanning direction each comprising the pair of strip-shaped parts 331, 371 separated in a secondary scanning direction y on the heating resistor support unit 21; and a resistor layer 4 including heating units 41 covering a gap between each pair of strip-shaped parts 331, 371. The strip-shaped parts 331, 371 include a normal thickness part 321 and a reduced thickness part 322 thinner than the normal thickness part 321 and positioned near the gap. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
