<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stereoscopic display device that improves quality of a display image. <P>SOLUTION: The stereoscopic display device includes: a light barrier part including a plurality of open/close part groups comprising a plurality of open/close parts 12A, 12B and individually opening/closing at different timings between the groups; a composite image generation part that generates composite images (composite frame images FA, FB) of a plurality of systems corresponding to each of the open/close part groups, on the basis of a plurality of view point images with different points of view, according to the open/close timing of each of the open/close part groups; and a display part that displays the composite image of a corresponding system in synchronization with open/close motions of the open/close part groups.
