<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable plural stereoscopic display modes to be easily switched. <P>SOLUTION: A display mode control unit 51 performs switching control of which display mode of a glasses-free mode (second mode) and a glasses mode (first mode) stereoscopic display is to be performed in according to whether a user is wearing stereoscopic viewing glasses. The display mode control unit 51 also performs switching control to a 2D display mode (third mode) as necessary. In the glasses mode, stereoscopic display is performed using a parallax separation function by the stereoscopic viewing glasses. In the glasses-free mode, stereoscopic display is performed using a parallax separation function by a parallax element unit 12. The display mode control unit 51 controls the parallax separation function of the parallax element unit 12 to be an OFF state in the glasses mode, and controls the parallax separation function of the parallax element unit 12 to be an ON state when performing stereoscopic display in the glasses-free mode. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
