In an hydraulic hoist for a tractor-drawn mowing machine in which a cable or chain 11 passes over a running pulley 8 and a fixed pulley 10, a pivoted pawl 12 is provided in the path of the piston rod 6 and has a first notch 15 to determine the raking position and a second notch 16 which operates as a safety catch to hold the piston rod 6 in the fully extended position at which the mowing machine is retained in the raised transporting position. The pawl 12 has a lug 18 for foot or hand control. |
