A device (1.3) is placed upstream of a modulator in a digital service stream broadcasting chain, and is adapted for receiving a plurality of transport streams and for transmitting a transport stream to a modulator, each transport stream encapsulating a digital service stream adapted to be broadcast by the modulator, said digital service streams being representative of one and the same digital service. The device is also adapted for: extracting (2.3; 2.4) digital service streams from the transport streams received; detecting (2.1; 2.2; 2.3; 2.4) errors in the stream; aligning (2.5, 2.6, 2.7) the extracted streams; selecting (2.7) a stream from among the aligned streams, as a function of possible detected errors; encapsulating (2.8) the selected stream, so as to form the transport stream to be transmitted to the modulator.
