The car has an evaluation unit (1) for recognizing a braking request (BW) of a driver before performing brake pedal operation. A control unit (2) outputs a command for activating sailing operation (SE) or pushing operation (SU) based on the braking request of the driver at two conditions (A, A', B, B'). A floor space monitoring sensor system (F) of the evaluation unit detects readiness of the driver for performing brake pedal operation, clutch pedal operation or pedal operation. A head position sensor system (K) detects a viewing direction of the driver.
