[Problem] Provided is a paper holder wherein a plurality of pieces of paper can be easily inserted at the same time, the inserted paper is reliably maintained, the maintained paper can be reliably removed piece by piece from the upper side without dropping the paper at the lower side, a clear linear tearing trail remains on the removed paper, and dust is hardly generated. [Solution] A paper holder is provided with: a case (10) wherein a base (12) including a bottom face (11) removably engages with and is integrated with an upper cover (15) to form a paper insertion port (19); and a holding piece (20) rotatably supported about an axial support unit (17) in the case, biased to the paper removal direction by a spring force, and provided with a blade (40) so that the blade projects from an end of the holding piece on the side of the bottom face (11). The bottom face (11) is formed on its inner face with: a front slope portion (11a) having a mild negative slope from the position near the insertion port (19) toward the position near the tip (43) of the blade (40); and a rear slope portion (11c) having a mild positive slope from the position near the tip of the blade (40) toward the paper insertion direction.
