摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide polyesters obtained by a technically simple and economical method, whose functional groups and properties such as solubility or melt or glass transition temperature are readily adaptable to the requirements of the application and which are able to combine advantageous properties such as high functionality, high reactivity, low viscosity and/or ready solubility. <P>SOLUTION: This highly functional, highly branched or hyperbranched polyester is obtained by reacting at least one dicarboxylic acid (A<SB POS="POST">2</SB>) of the aliphatic series or the like and at least one divalent alcohol (B<SB POS="POST">2</SB>) of the aliphatic series or the like containing two OH groups, with either (a) at least one x-valent alcohol (C<SB POS="POST">x</SB>) of the aliphatic series or the like containing more than two OH groups, or (b) at least one carboxylic acid (D<SB POS="POST">y</SB>) of the aliphatic series or the like containing more than two acid groups. The molecular weight M<SB POS="POST">n</SB>of the polyester is at least 500 g/mol, and polydispersity M<SB POS="POST">w</SB>/M<SB POS="POST">n</SB>is 1.2-50.
