<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for asynchronous communication of data on a single conductor. <P>SOLUTION: The invention relates to the asynchronous communication of data in complex integrated systems present inside integrated circuit chips or between integrated circuit chips, for example in a compact stack of chips. According to the invention, the transmission is done on a single exchange conductor. The data is transmitted on a conductor C<SB POS="POST">ech</SB>in the form of at least three levels of potential, the first level (0) representing a first value of a transmission data item, the second level (Vdd) representing a second value of the transmission data item, and the third level (Vmed) representing an inactive level. An acknowledgment signal is transmitted onto the same exchange conductor as the data. The signal is preferably generated by a receiver in the form of forcibly setting the exchange conductor by the receiver to the inactive potential level, and a transmitter detects the forcible setting. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
