<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce power consumption in both OLT and ONU even in a state a terminal is connected with its power switched on. <P>SOLUTION: In a PON system having a station-side device (OLT) and a plurality of customer premise-side devices (ONU), the station-side device includes: an uplink frame transfer processor unit for controlling frame transfer in a direction from each customer premise-side device to the station-side device; a transfer database unit 44a for managing the destination of user frame transfer from the station-side device to the plurality of customer premise-side devices; a statistic counter unit 44b for counting a data amount of each user; and a user use state management unit 49 for managing the use states of users. The user use state management unit determines the user use state (in use or not in use) from a state supervision result of either one of the uplink frame transfer processor unit, the transfer database unit and the statistic counter unit, or the entire thereof; switches the operation of an uplink frame transfer control unit according to the use state; and adjusts a DBA control frame amount between the station-side device and each customer premise-side device. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
