<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a fluctuation in chromatic aberration when the shape of an interface of a refractive power variable element is changed. <P>SOLUTION: A refractive power variable element 1 can change a refractive power by changing the shape of an interface 3 formed by a first medium A and a second medium B that have mutually different refractive indices. Assuming that the refractive indices in d line of the first medium A and the second medium B are defined as n<SB POS="POST">A</SB>and n<SB POS="POST">B</SB>, and Abbe numbers in the d line of the first medium A and the second medium B are defined as ν<SB POS="POST">A</SB>and ν<SB POS="POST">B</SB>respectively, this refractive power variable element satisfies the following conditions: -0.023≤ä(n<SB POS="POST">A</SB>-1)/ν<SB POS="POST">A</SB>-(n<SB POS="POST">B</SB>-1)/ν<SB POS="POST">B</SB>}/(n<SB POS="POST">B</SB>-n<SB POS="POST">A</SB>)≤0.023. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
