The invention can be used in teaching the basics of how to control downhill skis and snowboards, in particular for teaching how to control speed and perform carve (cut) turns. The method involves the teacher being positioned higher up a slope than the student, the teacher and the student descending the slope, and the teacher controlling the speed and movements of the student's turn during the descent by pulling on a right and/or a left steering line, said lines being attached to fastening points on a turn teaching device in the form of a belt fastened on the student's body in the region of the hip joints. The device for implementing this method comprises a belt with steering lines attached to the device. The device also comprises leg straps, which are connected to the belt by front and rear stays and serve to secure the device in the region of the student's hip joints. The claimed group of inventions makes it possible to increase the safety of downhill skiing and snowboarding and improve the safety and effectiveness of the teaching process by means of the constant control of the speed and movements of the student by the teacher. |
