A device for pressing a toothed rack against a pinion which engages with the toothed rack, in particular for a steering system of a motor vehicle, is provided with a thrust piece (13) which can be loaded in the direction of the toothed rack by a compression spring (16) and which is guided in a displaceable manner in a housing (12), and with an adjusting device (14) for compensating play which arises in the steering system. Between the adjusting device (14) and the thrust piece (13) there is arranged a spring washer (22), wherein the adjusting device (14) has a shoulder (24) and the thrust piece (13) has a recess (23) or the thrust piece (13) has a shoulder and the adjusting device (14) has a recess (23) in the region of the spring washer (22). The adjusting device (14) also has two setting disks (20, 21) which are rotatable relative to one another and which bear against one another at contact surfaces, and the contact surfaces have at least two oblique surfaces (18, 19). The complete adjusting device (14) is preassembled, as an assembly unit with thrust piece (13), spring washer (22) and compression spring (13), by means of a clamping pin (27). |
