The vehicle (1) has an electrical driving apparatus (2) i.e. electric motor, for driving the vehicle. A vehicle battery (3) i.e. high voltage battery, supplies electric voltage to the driving apparatus. An electrical connecting unit (5) is connected with an electrical reserve battery (7) for supplying electric power to the driving apparatus, where the reserve battery has low battery capacity with respect to the vehicle battery. A safety device of the connecting unit covers an electrical contact element of the connecting unit when being not connected with the reserve battery. An independent claim is also included for a method for electrically connecting a reserve battery with an electrical connecting unit of a motor car.
