<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact optical fiber module obtained by modularizing a polarization holding type highly non-linear optical fiber. <P>SOLUTION: An optical fiber module comprises a polarization holding type highly non-linear optical fiber having a core, a clad which surrounds the core and has two stress imparting parts formed by sandwiching the core along the core and a coating for coating the clad. The polarization holding type highly non-linear optical fiber is wound in a ring coil shape, in which a bending loss at a wavelength of 1550 nm with a bending diameter of 20 mm is 0.01 dB/turn or less, a nonlinear coefficient γ at the wavelength of 1550 nm is 10 W<SP POS="POST">-1</SP>km<SP POS="POST">-1</SP>or more, a cut-off wavelength λc is 1530 nm or less and a zero dispersion wavelength is 1400 nm or more and 1650 nm or less. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
