<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the chance of making erroneous inspection due to particular noise occurring when a plate-shaped electrodes is used. <P>SOLUTION: A liquid discharge device includes: a head for discharging a liquid from a nozzle; a first electrode for electrifying the liquid so that the liquid has a first electric potential; and a plate-shaped second electrode which is disposed at the position opposed to the head and reaches a second electric potential different from the first electric potential. The liquid discharge device is characterized in that a discharge determination to determine whether the liquid is discharged from the nozzle is carried out on the basis of an electric potential change produced on at least one of the first electrode and the second electrode when the liquid is discharge from the nozzle. The discharge determination is performed continuously on the nozzle to be inspected a plurality of times and even if it is determined that the liquid is discharged in any of the plurality of discharge determinations, it is determined that the liquid is not discharged from the nozzle to be inspected as long as such a determination that the liquid is not discharged is made in any of the plurality of discharge determinations. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
