PURPOSE: A yellow dust detection method using a wavelength signal ratio and a depolarization ratio of a light detection and ranging unit is provided to calculate the wavelength signal ratio and the depolarization ratio without reanalyzing a light detection and ranging measurement result acquired from a measurement step. CONSTITUTION: A light detection and ranging(LIDAR) unit vertically emits laser beams of wavelength 1064nm and 532nm to the atmosphere in order to measure laser beam return time and strength of back scattered light collected by a receiver(S10). A wavelength signal ratio and a depolarization ratio are calculated using the laser beam return time and the strength of the back scattered light(S20). A generation state, a distribution altitude, and strength of yellow dust are received by analyzing the wavelength signal ratio and depolarization ratio(S50).
