发明名称 Yarn lubricants
摘要 A composition for softening and conditioning yarns, particularly saponified cellulose acetate yarns, comprises a mahogany sulphonate, an ester, amide or ester-amide of an alkylol-amine with a fatty acid containing a chain of at least 8 carbon atoms, and a di- or poly-hydric aliphatic alcohol containing at least 6 carbon atoms. Preferably the composition also contains a monohydric aliphatic alcohol containing at least 6 carbon atoms. A preferred monohydric alcohol is 2-ethylhexanol-1 and the dihydric alcohol may be 2-ethyl-1,3-hexanediol. The alkylolamine esters, amides or ester-amides are obtainable by heating the long-chain fatty acid or a glyceride or other ester thereof with, for instance, mono-, di- or tri-ethanolamine or propanolamine. A suitable product is made by heating lauric acid or coconut oil with slightly more than an equimolecular proportion of diethanolamine at 160-170 DEG C. The product may contain some dialkylolamine soap and other by-products. These compositions may be applied to the yarn as such or emulsified with water. A preferred composition comprises 35 to 45 parts of the amide product from diethanolamine and lauric acid or coconut oil, 20 to 25 parts of a mahogany sulphonate, 20 to 25 parts of 2-ethyl-1,3-hexanediol and up to 5 parts of 2-ethylhexanol-1, all parts being by weight. An emulsion suitable for applying to running yarns may be made by adding 10 to 30 parts by weight of water to every 100 parts of a composition as above. More dilute compositions suitable for applying to yarns in package form may contain up to 1800 parts by weight of water to every 100 parts of lubricating composition. Other ingredients may be added to the fundamental composition such as a mineral oil, an oxidized vegetable oil, a blending agent such as 2,4-di-tertiary-amyl phenol and a softening agent such as acetyl butyl ricinoleate. Such a mineral oil product may comprise 15 to 30 parts of the fundamental composition, 10 to 30 parts of mineral oil (viscosity 40-50 S.S.U.), 1 to 3 parts of oxidized peanut oil and 1 to 3 parts of 2,4-di-tertiary-amyl phenol, with or without 1 to 3 parts of acetyl butyl ricinoleate, all parts being by weight. Any of these compositions may also be emulsified with water. Specifications 438,584, 438,586 and 438,587 are referred to.ALSO:A lubricating composition for softening and conditioning yarns, particularly saponified cellulose acetate yarns, comprises a mahogany sulphonate, an ester, amide or ester-amide of an alkylolamine with a fatty acid containing a chain of at least 8 carbon atoms, and a di-or polyhydric aliphatic alcohol containing at least 6 carbon atoms.
