SYSTEM FOR CONTROLLING THE TEMPERATURE OF GEAR BOX OF WIND TURBINE AND METHOD USING THE SAME

PURPOSE: A method and system for controlling the temperature of a gear box for a wind power generator are provided to increase the temperature of the gear box by increasing frictional heat caused by the rotation of a blade. CONSTITUTION: A system(10) for controlling temperature of a gear box(8) comprises a temperature control unit(40), a pitch control unit(20), and a controller(60). A temperature sensor measures the temperature of a gear box. The temperature control unit controls the temperature of the gear box according to the measured temperature of the gear box by the temperature sensor. The pitch control unit controls the pitch angle of a blade(3). If the measured temperature of the gear box is lower than a normal temperature range for operation, the controller controls the pitch control unit in order to rotate the blade with a rotation speed for heating. The gear box is heated up to the normal temperature range within a predetermined time.
