APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR PREVENTION SURFACE DEFECTS OF HOT-DIP COATED STEEL STRIPS

PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for preventing surface defects of hot-dip metal coated steel sheets are provided to prevent dross by changing the flow pattern of zinc plating bath to prevent the floating of dross deposited on the bottom of a plating tub. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for preventing surface defects of hot-dip metal coated steel sheets comprises a sink roll(2), a correcting roll(3), and a transverse bar(10). The sink roll is installed in a transverse direction inside a plating tub. The correcting roll is located above the sink roll and installed in parallel to the sink roll inside the plating tub. Strip(6) supplied continuously contacts the opposite side of the correcting roll in contact with the sink roll. The transverse bar is arranged between the strip entering the correcting roll and the correcting roll and installed in parallel to the correcting roll inside the plating tub.
