FAULT DIAGNOSIS APPARATUS OF THERMAL SENSOR FOR HYBRID AND ELECTRONIC VEHICLE AND METHOD OF THE SAME

PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for diagnosing the malfunction of a temperature sensor of a hybrid/electric vehicle are provided to rapidly and accurately confirm the state of a temperature sensor. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for diagnosing the malfunction of a temperature sensor of a hybrid/electric vehicle comprises an IVT(inverter) temperature sensor(10), a cooling plate temperature sensor, and an MCU. The IVT temperature sensor senses the temperature of an inverter(8). The cooling plate temperature sensor is attached on a cooling plate of the inverter and detects the temperature of the cooling plate. The MCU receives the detected value from the IVT and cooling plate temperature sensors and determines the malfunction or short circuit of the inverter.
