<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image encoding device capable of generating a code stream which guarantees that no calculation bit overflow occurs at inverse orthogonal transformation with less amount of processes, with no reexecution of inverse orthogonal transformation. <P>SOLUTION: The absolute value of each quantization coefficient of an objective block is accumulated and is taken as an evaluation value, which is compared with a threshold value that has been set in advance. Even if the quantization coefficient is corrected when the evaluation value exceeds the threshold value and the resultant corrected quantization coefficient is used to acquire an evaluation value, it is suppressed to be the threshold value or lower. A code stream which guarantees no occurrence of calculation bit overflow in inverse orthogonal transformation, can be generated with less amount of processes without reexecuting inverse orthogonal transformation, thereby suppressing hardware cost and software processing amount. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
