A distributed feedback laser structure for a photonic integrated circuit and method of manufacturing such structure

A laser structure comprising a die section (2) made of III-V material and a silicon wafer (3) comprising a first waveguide (31), the structure further comprises a Bragg grating (23). The Bragg grating is located inside the die section and is configured to receive light from and transmit light to said first waveguide. A further waveguide (22) is provided in the die and forms the active waveguide of the laser. A method of manufacturing the structure is also disclosed.
