A colloidal damper including: (I) a cylinder device 40 including a housing 42 connected to a vehicle body 32 and a piston 44 connected to a wheel holding member 26: (II) a colloidal-solution sealed body 92, 98 which is accommodated in an chamber 62 defined by the housing 42 and the piston 44 and which includes: (A) a colloidal solution 90, 96 in which are mixed a first working fluid 88, 94 and porous bodies 100 having a multiplicity of pores; and (B) a hermetically sealed container 80, 82 which has flexibility and which hermetically seals the colloidal solution 90, 96 contained therein; and (III)a second working fluid 110 contained in the chamber 62 together with the colloidal-solution sealed body 92, 98. In the colloidal damper, the colloidal solution 90, 96 is hermetically contained in the container 80, 82, thereby preventing the porous bodies 100 from rubbing against the housing 42 and the piston 44. |
