The present invention relates to an organic polyelectrolyte obtained by the reaction of dimethylaminopropylamine (DMAPA), optionally blended with ehylenic amines, with epichlorohydrin in a molar ratio (compounds containing amines:epichlorohydrin) between 1:0.95 and 1:1.15 characterised in that the addition of epichlorohydrin is carried out for a minimum of 10 hours at a temperature between 50 and 60°C. The present invention also relates to a composition comprising said organic polyelectrolite and their use for removing pollutants, in particular phosphorous species, from water, in particular wastewater. |
