<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cathode for a lithium secondary battery with excellent initial charge/discharge efficiency, and a lithium secondary battery using the cathode. <P>SOLUTION: The cathode for the lithium secondary battery is obtained by arranging a mixture layer including cathode active material particles containing silicon and/or silicon alloy and a binder on the surface of a collector, of which an active layer void ratio as defined in formulae 1 and 2 is 60% or less after charging and discharging of a first cycle or later. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
