A plinth for use in silage silo 1 construction comprises a seating channel 6a for supporting a wall panel 3 of the silo wherein the plinth further comprises a drainage channel 6b for the collection and conveyance of leachate 15 and other liquids. Also claimed is a silage silo comprising such a plinth. Further claim is made to a silage silo comprising an impermeable membrane 17 beneath and defining an upper region 4a of a backfill layer so as to prevent water ingress to the lower region 4b of the backfill layer. |
