PURPOSE: An array substrate for a liquid crystal display device with an insulating layer formed by using soluble materials and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to form a protection layer using soluble hybrid materials which includes silicon oxide, thereby simplifying manufacturing processes. CONSTITUTION: A gate line and a data line(130) are formed on a substrate(110). The gate line and the data line cross each other to define a pixel area. A thin film transistor is connected to the gate line and the data line. A protective layer(134) is formed on the thin film transistor and the data line. The protective layer is made of soluble organic/inorganic hybrid insulating materials which include oxide silicon. A pixel electrode(142) is connected to the thin film transistor. |
