PURPOSE: A friction element is provided to increase the pressure which is applied to the pressing plate with using the same operation fluid pressure by applying to the pressing plate and friction disc after changing the power of the piston corresponding to the operation fluid pressure through the lever principle. CONSTITUTION: A friction element(100) comprises a case(102), a piston(110), a return spring(114), a pressing plate(120), and a friction disk(122). The case forms a friction element space. The piston is installed within the case. The piston is moved to the axial direction by the operation fluid pressure flowing in the piston chamber(108). The return spring converts the power corresponding to the operation fluid pressure from the piston to the pressing force. The return spring always offers the elastic force opposite to the operation fluid pressure to the piston. The pressing plate is spline-coupled with the case. The friction disk is arranged with the pressing plate by turns.
