PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display device of in-plane switching type is provided to allow all pixels to have uniform brightness by rotating liquid crystal molecules at the same angle. CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal display device of in-plane switching type comprises: first and second substrates(100,100') which face each other; electrodes(200) which are parallel to each other by differently arranging the gaps of the first and second substrates in order to enable the different illumination depending on each place; liquid crystal molecules which are placed between the first and second substrates and arranged between the electrodes through the applied voltage; and a controller(400) which applies voltage to the electrodes by being electrically coupled to the electrodes.
