Apparatus and Method for controlling vehicle lighting using camera of LDWS

PURPOSE: A vehicle illumination control device and method are provided to precisely control the illumination of a vehicle by measuring amount of light through a camera and to reduce costs and the number of components. CONSTITUTION: A camera(310) is installed at the front side of a vehicle as a part of a line departure warning system. A controller controls illumination of the vehicle by separating brightness information from an image obtained from the camera. The illumination of the vehicle comprises an indoor illumination(340) and a headlight(350). The image is transferred to a line departure warning system line departure warning system unit(330). Illumination information of the image is extracted and is transferred to the controller.
