The arrangement comprises engine compartments (2.1,2.2) separated by a wall structure (5) which comprises an opening (6) with floodgate assembly (7). The floodgate assembly has a buoyancy-assisted movement actuation device (9) which moves a gate (8) to increase the opening area of the opening, when water level in one of compartment is raised.
