PURPOSE: A press device is provided to simplify a structure because movement of a pressing rod is selectively restricted by an interaction of a LVDT(Linear Variable Differential Transformer) and servo control hydraulic valve. CONSTITUTION: A press device comprises a pressing rod(2), a cylinder device(4), and a LVDT(6). The pressing rod pressing materials(50) placed on a lathe(40) is installed in the cylinder device and relatively moved. The LVDT measures a linear movement length, thereby controlling movement of the pressing rod. The LVDT comprises a magnetic core(6a) and tube(6b). The magnetic core joined to the pressing rod moves with the pressing rod. The tube covering the magnetic core measures displacement of the pressing rod according to relative movement of the magnetic core.
