PURPOSE: A moving target position tracking method of a multi-separation radar and apparatus using the same are provided to improve position accuracy and detection probability of a moving target. CONSTITUTION: A moving target position tracking apparatus of a multi-separation radar comprises a tracking target determination block(102), an element value calculation block(104), a position detection determination block(106), a first target detection block(108), and a second target detection block(110). The tracking target determination block respectively determines a plurality of tracking target transmitters/receivers based on received signals and transmission signals. The element value calculation block outputs the square of the sum of each element and the sum of the square of each element of a matrix by extracting a matrix with respect to the received signal of each tracking target receiver. The position detection determination block select an NR(Netted Radar) processing technique or an MIMO(Multi Input Multi Output) processing technique for detecting a position of a moving target based on an MIMO threshold value and an NR threshold value. The MIMO processing technique is selected for detecting the position of the moving target when the first target detection block receives a detection command from the position detection determination block. The NR processing technique is selected for detecting the position of the moving target when the second target detection block receives the detection command from the position detection determination block.
