PURPOSE: A backlight unit is provided to realize simultaneous illumination by light guide plates which are arranged on both sides to reduce the number of light emitting diodes, thereby reducing power consumption. CONSTITUTION: A backlight unit(1) comprises the following units. A plurality of light guide plates(10) are arranged at an interval along with a long axis direction. Both-sided light emitting objects(20) are arranged between the light guide plates respectively. The both-sided light emitting objects emit light to the light guide plates. A chassis(30) contains the light emitting objects and the light guide plates. |
