PURPOSE: A device for inverter protection of hybrid vehicle and a method thereof are provided to analyze PWM signals which are output from a controlling unit, thereby preventing out of PWM signals and stably protecting power switch device. CONSTITUTION: A device for inverter protection of hybrid vehicle comprises a motor, a battery, an inverter, a controller(53), and a fault determining unit. The motor is driven by AC voltage in three phases. In battery, high voltage is saved. In the inverter, power switch device consists of an upper arm and a lower arm. The inverter converts battery voltage into U,V, and W phases. The controller outputs PWM signal for phase conversion control of the inverter. The fault determining unit analyzes the PWM signal outputted from the controller.
