PURPOSE: A method for isolating target cells is provided to efficiently isolated target cells from a biological sample containing two or more cells with similar density. CONSTITUTION: A method for isolating target cells from a biological sample comprises: a step of contacting a biological sample containing target cells with particles which are conjugated with surface marker-specific ligand; a step of specifically binding the ligand with the surface marker to form a particle-target cell complex; and a step of separating other cells from the particle-target cell complex through density gradient centrifugation. The target cells are circulating tumor cells, cancer stem cells, or cancer cells.
