PURPOSE: A power source monitoring apparatus and a method thereof are provided to inform a user when a battery is exchanged. CONSTITUTION: A power source monitoring apparatus(10) comprises a measurement part(11), an operation part(12), and a memory(13). The measurement part measures voltage of an auxiliary power source. The operation part outputs average voltage with respect to a predetermined measurement section from the measured voltage. The operation part transmits an auxiliary power source exchange signal to a system apparatus when an instantaneous voltage value is lower than an instantaneous voltage reference value or the outputted average voltage is lower than an average voltage reference value. The memory stores the instantaneous voltage reference value and the average voltage reference value.
