Various azo-disulphide dyes are prepared for use in dyeing processes. See examples.ALSO:The invention provides a process and compositions for printing cellulosic materials with sulphur or azodisulphide dyes in which a paste containing water, alkali, thickening agent, thiourea and dye is applied to the material which is then dried and steamed to activate the thiourea as reducing agent, is then oxidized and finished by washing, soaping rinsing and drying. A mixture of the above two types of dyes may be used. The compositions for use in the process may optionally contain a hygroscopic agent and a solubilising agent. The dye paste preferably contains 1-5% of dye and 2-8% of thiourea.
